Today’s HR question:
Can hiring and exits feel human, even when decisions are difficult?
“At OrqoHire, we think they can.
And honestly, they should.“
Orqo, the squirrel is our little reminder to stay thoughtful, prepared and people-first. We believe every interaction leaves behind either trust or tension. The way companies hire, reject, onboard or let go of people shapes their reputation far beyond one role or one quarter.
Humane HR is not about being “soft.”
It’s about being clear, respectful and intentional.
Here’s the Orqo way.
1. Don’t Ghost Candidates. Close the Loop.
One small message can protect your employer brand more than a long strategy deck.
Screenshot-worthy script:
“Thank you for investing your time with us. While we’re moving ahead with another candidate for this role, we genuinely appreciated learning about your experience and would be happy to stay connected for future opportunities.”
Simple. Human. Respectful.
Silence creates frustration.
Closure creates goodwill.
2. During Exits, Preserve Dignity First.
People may forget policies.
They rarely forget how they were treated on their last day.
Before an exit conversation, ask:
- Is the message clear?
- Is the setting respectful?
- Have we allowed space for questions?
- Did we acknowledge the person’s contribution?
A better way to begin:
“This is a difficult conversation, and I want to handle it with honesty and respect. Thank you for the work you’ve contributed here.”
Tone matters as much as process.
3. Hiring isn’t just Evaluation. It’s Experience.
Candidates are already imagining what it feels like to work with you.
Tiny moments shape perception:
- Was the interview rushed?
- Did someone actively listen?
- Were expectations transparent?
- Did communication feel robotic or real?
The best hiring teams don’t just assess talent.
They create trust.
That trust becomes referrals, reputation, retention and sometimes future re-hires.
The Orqo Reminder
A squirrel prepares carefully before every season.
At OrqoHire, we believe HR should work the same way:
- Thoughtful before reactive
- Human before transactional
- Clear before complicated
Because people remember moments more than policies.
